NATWEST Bank has organised a temporary face-to-face banking service for its customers in Hatherleigh.

The mobile service will be available while essential repairs are carried out to the front of the building, which was broken into last month.

On board the mobile bank, which is fully accessible, customers will be able to carry out a range of personal banking services including, cashing cheques, making account deposits, paying bills, checking their balance, getting quotes for all NatWest's major products and accessing forms for opening accounts, etc.

There will also be a phone system onboard which will give customers a direct line to main areas of the bank including mortgages, credit cards and insurance.

NatWest Bank expressed thanks to the owner of Bridge Street Garage, Kevin Brown-Martin, who has allowed the mobile bank to be situated at his garage on Bridge Street.

NatWest's Senior Bank Manager for Hatherleigh, Graham Whitton, said: 'I am really pleased that we have been able to arrange an alternative service for Hatherleigh.

'While the closure of the branch was outside of our control, we are fully aware of the important role it plays in the community as the only bank in town.

'We have done everything we can to resume as full a service as possible, as soon as we could, while waiting for the branch to be repaired.

'The mobile bank will be visiting Hatherleigh every weekday until the branch is once again ready to provide a safe and secure place for our customers and my team.'

The mobile bank will be open from Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
