DARTMOOR Railway has announced a series of special events taking place throughout September to attract people to Okehampton Station.
First up on Friday, September 7 is a murder mystery evening. Guests should watch and listen closely as the murder plot unfolds before their eyes. They can use their detective skills to survey the murder scene, and ask the cast members questions.
Presented by Duchy Murder Productions, the show on the platform at Okehampton Station starts at 7pm, with tickets costing £12.50 for adults, £6 for under 16s and £32.50 for a family ticket. Tickets include a freshly baked pasty with salad.
Music lovers can enjoy the Hamer and Isaacs Gypsy Swing Band on Friday, September 14, who will play on the platform from 6pm before a train ride to Meldon Viaduct and back, returning for fish and chips and beer on the platform.
Visitors can then enjoy another return train ride at 8pm to Sampford Courtenay.
Tickets cost £12.50 for adults, £6 for under 16s and £32.50 for a family.
Saturday, September 22 sees a fun evening of nostalgia with Chris Batters as he recalls the great stars, music and memories of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
The evening starts at 7pm and includes a buffet, with tickets costing £12.50 for adults.
Beer. cider, wine and soft drinks are available at all three events, and people are asked to book in advance by visiting the station or calling 01837 55164.
The railway's direct Sunday service to Exeter continues to run until September 23, while weekend services to Sampford Courtenay and Meldon Quarry continue through until Sunday October 28.
