OKEHAMPTON Rugby captain Dan Fogerty is eager to see selection headaches soothed in the second half of the South West Premier Division season.

Although there is unlikely to be any relegation from the division this season as part of a wide-ranging reorganisation of league rugby, no one at Okehampton wants to take a chance on finishing in the bottom three.

With 13 games played, Okehampton are one off the bottom and Fogerty would like to start moving up the table.

’I am hoping we don’t have the same availability problems we had in the first half of the season, can get some consistency and hopefully start making our way up the table,’ said Fogerty.

Three defeats in the four games prior to Christmas were largely responsible for Okey dropping into the bottom two.

Hit-and-miss Ivybridge, who have won three and lost four of their last seven games, are the visitors this Saturday in a Devon derby. Fogerty hopes his selection plans won’t be disrupted.

’With Covid lurking around selection could become bit of a headache if there are late drop outs,’ said Fogerty.

’It’s the same for every other team so just have to put up with what comes our way.’
