MAY 19 saw a wedding like no other — and no we don’t mean the marriage between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Nick Coleman, who is a member of the Forbidden Ones of Exmouth, which is part of the Devon Alliance, and Jen Curtis from Germansweek tied the knot on Saturday at Launceston Registry Office watched on by around 50 of their biker friends all dressed in their leathers.
But the outfits weren’t the only difference to a ‘traditional’ wedding seen that day — not only did the bride and bridegroom have their wedding bands tattooed on their skin during the ceremony but at one point the bride had to give a helping hand to her mode of transport on their way to the wedding reception.
‘I had to push the bike up the hill in my wedding dress in Okehampton,’ said Jen. ‘Everyone was horrified!
‘It was a brilliant day and the club group [The Forbidden Ones of Exmouth] worked so hard for us, especially by providing road blocks.’
The whole group was seen escorting the newlyweds from Launceston to Okehampton on the A30 and the old A30, and then to Roadford Lake for the reception, where they enjoyed a hog roast and live music and fireworks.
‘It really was a unique wedding.’
