IF you know someone living in West Devon who deserves recognition for having a positive impact on the area, nominations for the West Devon Mayoral Awards are open until March 3.
The awards celebrate the unsung heroes and heroines of the area, recognising the achievements of those who have accomplished something remarkable in West Devon, or improved the reputation of the borough on the national stage.
Residents of all ages are eligible for the awards, which fall into three categories: a young person aged under 18; an organisation, or person over 18; and an individual or group who have made a significant contribution to the conservation and protection of the natural environment of West Devon.
Last year, the winners were:
• In the over 18 category – Lee Spencer and Donald Rooke.
• For the under 18 category - William Dax.
• Dora Cowland, Kath Matthews and Tavistock College’s sustainability team won the conservation category.
If you are a resident, school or business and would like to nominate individuals or groups who help make people’s lives better, or those who have achieved something outstanding, then get in touch by March 3
You can download the nomination form online at www.westdevon.gov.uk/
