WITH the spring sun shining, OCRA has lined up an exciting programme of sport and activities to keep youngsters entertained through the Easter holidays.
On Tuesday April 10 and Thursday April 12, OCRA is holding sport and art days for 6 to 14 year olds, where youngsters can enjoy a mixture of sport, including football, basketball, fencing, an assault course, and much more, alongside art and craft activities.
The sessions run each day from 10am to 3pm, with the first child of the family costing £9.50, and each additional child £7.50.
On Wednesday April 11, keen cricketers can enjoy a cricket camp, or youngsters can try their hand at fencing.
The cricket camp welcomes 10 to 16 year olds of all abilities to practice batting, bowling, fielding and take part in games. The camp costs £12 and runs from 10am to 3pm.
Alternatively, 8 to 16 year olds can join the fencing camp from 10am to 1pm. Participants will learn fencing skills and take part in a fencing competition. The camp costs £8.
For those who like to embrace their wild side, a fun-filled programme of woodland activities is in store at the bushcraft and outdoor adventure day on Friday April 13. Eight to 16 year olds can take part in camp fire cooking, woodland and knife skills, and environmental art and games. The camp costs £15 for the day at Alder Lake, running from 10am to 3pm.
The session will also be a taster for OCRA's new monthly family bushcraft and woodland days, planned for the second Saturday of each month.
For each activity, children will need to bring appropriate indoor and outdoor clothing, packed lunch and drinks.

l The next few months sees the formation of a brand new sports club and the return of an old favourite as OCRA prepares for a busy summer of sport.
With the London Olympics due to start at the end of July, interest in athletics will be at its height this year. With that in mind, OCRA has decided to start an athletics club for 8 to 11 year olds.
Taking place at Okehampton College, the club will give youngsters the chance to try out a wide range of athletics activities — running, long jump, high jump, hurdles, javelin and shot putt are just some of the sports planned for the club.
The athletics club's first meeting will be at the college on Monday April 23 from 4pm to 5pm. Each session will cost £3 per child.
The OCRA Action Club is also back for the next few months leading up to the summer holidays. The exciting after-school club invites children and young people to join in two hours of free play, using OCRA's equipment and space to take part in a range of activities.
The club will run in the majority of towns and villages across the area, including Chagford, Hatherleigh, North Tawton, South Tawton, Bridestowe, and Exbourne.
An adult trampoling club also started up at the beginning of March on Wednesday evenings at the college during term time. The club gives adults the chance to start up a new activity, or brush up on their trampolining skills. Sessions run from 8pm to 9pm and cost £4 per week.
