OKEHAMPTON Festival of Food and Music returns on June 30, certain to provide a wonderful day’s entertainment to appeal to residents and visitors alike.
It is the sixth festival to be organised by Okehampton and District Chamber of Trade, who will be welcoming old friends and established exhibitors as well as a range of exciting new local food producers, musicians and dance groups.
The Harvest Workers’ Co-operative is offering a range of family-friendly activities including storytelling and creative play.
Visitors to the festival will be able to browse around some 30 stalls of local food and drink, all offering tempting delicacies to tempt the taste buds.
New exhibitors at this year’s event include Marion’s Deli, Cornish Crepes, Smartacups, Kumbites, Taw Valley Brewery with their cask-conditioned ale and Teignworthy Gin with their latest offerings.
Linda Harper, chairman of Okehampton and District Chamber of Trade, said: ‘There is so much food diversity around Okehampton and the festival connects local people with small local food suppliers and people have the opportunity to chat and try out samples.
‘There is a thriving creative core to Okehampton that engages young and old alike through music and dance, traditional through to modern and all of this is embraced and celebrated at the festival.’
