THREE Okehampton girls had their hair cut at school recently – to help children who are suffering from cancer.

Sophie Ward, Erin Read and Maddie Burrow raised £200 for the Little Princess Trust after hairdresser Lita Vallance, from Quinn’s in East Street, restyled their long locks into bobs.

Their ponytails are being sent off to the charity to make into wigs for children who have lost their own hair during cancer treatment.

Erin’s mum Chrissie said: ‘Miss Godbear, head of school at Okehampton Primary, said they could have their hair cut at school, so on Wednesday, July 11 Lita Vallance from Quinn’s chopped off their beautiful ponytails!

‘The girls love their new styles and are very proud of themselves.’
