A Four Ball Better Ball ’Turkey Trot’ Stableford competition was played on Saturday, November 6 and the winners of division one were David Williams and Vic Marks with 46 points.

Paul Rattenbury and Matt Soby were second with 44 points after countback from, in third, Kevin Cornwall and Alan Searle. Mike Hubbard and Mark Bennett were fourth with 43 points. Division two was won by Brian May and Steve Browne with a very impressive 47 points. Scott Gillespie and Adrian Rice were second with 46 points, Stuart Brealy and Bill Tucker were third with 45 points and Adrian Raymond and David Haines-Lawson were fourth with 44 points.

The ladies section played a medal competition and the winner of division one was Maggie Caws with nett 70. Frances Harbron was second also with nett 70 and Sue Williams was third with nett 74. Division two was won by Mary Keir with nett 69. Babs Beaney was second with nett 73 and Cherry James was third with nett 74.

On Saturday, November 13 a Four-Ball Better Ball stableford competition with both scores to count on all par threes was played and the winners of division one were Bryan Evans and Lee Carey with 57 points. Lee Pengelly and Paul Douglas were second with 55 points and Matt Mills and Rod Wright were third with 54 points. Division two was won by Ross Anderson and Trevor Chapman with 56 points. Reggie Wonnacott and Dave Stallion were second with 53 points, narrowly beating Norman Heslop and Jim Murray on the back nine.

The ladies section played a Greensomes competition and the winners with a magnificent 44 points were Cherry James and Babs Beaney. They will now go on to represent the club in the county vets knock out competiton next year.
