OKEHAMPTON and District Lions Club presented a cheque for £7,500 to the North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team based in Okehampton towards the cost of kitting out their new headquarters for training, storage and kit drying area, and other needs.

Members of Okehampton Lions recognised the group’s need to improve its facilities, at a cost of around £10,000, realising just how vital this group is to the local community with its close proximity to Dartmoor and is proud to be of service and to be able to fund the project to such an extent.

Presenting the cheque is Lions president Robert Cunliffe with members of Okehampton Lions Club and North Dartmoor Search and Rescue.
