A SHEBBEAR College student who lives near Okehampton has landed a role in a film version of a successful stage show.

Ollie Crowhurst, a form one student, had been on stage with the English Touring Opera in the stage production of 'Tin', a story of 19th century Cornish tin mining. The company is now teaming up with Miracle Theatre to bring the production to the big screen.

The news is the latest of successes for Ollie, who has had a run of local drama success. He recently played Charlie Bates and two other roles in a sellout production of Oliver Twist at the Wharf Theatre in Tavistock, followed by a number of solo parts in 'Christmas Cracker' at the same venue. He has also recently played the role of Fat Sam in Bugsy Malone at the Wharf.

Ollie is a member of Tavistock Music Theatre Club and Tavistock Amateur Dramatic Society, and is also studying with LAMDA towards a Grade 2 acting qualification.
