A DECISION on the future home of a water painting found in the attic of Okehampton's town hall will be made at a meeting in the town, to be held later this year.

The 18th century painting, which shows parts of Plymouth's naval dockyard and coat of arms, was recently valued at between £300 and £400.

Okehampton town councillors will make the decision either to restore the painting to its former glory, which could cost more than the painting itself, or sell it to Plymouth City Council.

The council's property committee will be making a decision on the painting at its next meeting, which will be held in October.
