STAFF at a West Devon supermarket will be putting their glad rags on tomorrow (Friday) and inviting people to join them on the dance floor in a bid to raise lots of money for charity.

The Co-op in Okehampton will be hosting a charity party to raise money for CLIC Sargent, in honour of a young girl from the town suffering with leukaemia.

Thirteen-year-old Bea Holman-Brooks, a student at Okehampton College, was diagnosed with acute leukaemia last year and has been undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments since.

The supermarket supports a different charity every six months, and after hearing about Bea, staff decided to raise money for CLIC Sargent, which supports Bea and other children suffering from cancer.

Partygoers can dance the night away to a live band and a disco and take part in a raffle.

Tracey Sandford, from Co-op in Okehampton, said: All the money from the party is going to CLIC Sargent everyone is helping out for free, which is really nice.

Weve already raised £1,930 from other events like a sponsored bike ride, cake sale, bingo and other things but we want to raise as much money as possible.

Bea said: My life has changed dramatically since being ill and CLIC Sargent has helped me every step of the way. We would like to help raise money for CLIC Sargent so they can help families like mine.

The charity party will take place tomorrow at the Charter Hall from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. Entry is £5 per person.
