Okehampton police officers were out tackling road safety problems around the town last Friday (November 12).

Over the course of the night, the No Excuse team seized two vehicles. One of the drivers was found to be driving without insurance and a valid MOT while the other was caught driving without a licence.

The police also made two arrests, one for driving over the alcohol limit and the other for driving over the limit for cannabis.

Devon and Cornwall Police’s No Excuse team are a police group dedicated to road traffic safety and targeting the five main causes of death and serious injury while driving – excessive speed, failing to wear a seatbelt, distractions, driving under the influence and careless driving.
