A telecommunications company has approached Chagford Parish Council with a proposal to build a radio mast to provide better 4G connection to the area.

Clarke Telecom approached the council with a proposal to build a radio base station on land in Fernworthy Forest in Chagford, which is actually situated in the Dartmoor Forest parish, in order to improve 4G connectivity especially for Vodafone users.

Dartmoor Forest Parish Council has also been approached with the proposal.

As yet, the proposal is in the pre-planning phase and Chagford Parish Council has decided to withhold its reply until the planning application has been submitted and it can review the proposal in greater detail.
