PUPILS from South Tawton School were so impressed, following a visit to Nethercott Farm, that they decided to raise money for the charity project.

The class four children raised money for Farms for City Children by organising a cake stall and a non-uniform day at the school.

The farm, near Iddlesleigh, is part of a charity group that aims to teach urban-based children the realities of life in the countryside and food production.

A bumper cheque of £276.78 was handed over by school staff and pupils on Monday week to Catherine Knight, Nethercott Farm's schools' manager, on behalf of the charity.
