NEW wooden signs have been installed at Fatherford Road Allotments to indicate the award-winning plot belonging to members of the Okehampton Puzzle Tree Community.
The 15 beautifully made signs, made by students at Okehampton College, were presented to Puzzle Tree members at their Christmas dinner in December.
The signs were remade by the students after secretary of Fatherford Road Allotment Association Tony Dion contacted the college for its help.
'The original hand-written name signs made by the members themselves were ruined by bad weather.
'I spoke to Mr Dunn from the woodworking department at the college and he offered his help straight away.
'I work with the Puzzle Tree members at least twice a week and having their plots named means the world to them.
'The pride of ownership is written all over their faces and with the help of the college and Mr Dunn, it has been possible for them to have these signs made to stand all weather conditions.'
The Puzzle Tree Community enables any adult with learning disabilities to meet friends as well as get advice and information on a whole host of different things they can do.
