A WEST Devon canine impressed judges to win a category at a championship dog show held in Bath recently.
Rafa, a Weimaraner from Beaworthy, won the 'gundog' category at the Petplan Junior Stakes Qualifier round.
Insurance provider Petplan headed to Bath Canine General Championship Show for the Petplan Junior Qualifying round, which is now in its 17th year.
Rafa, registered as Rivertone Grandmaster of Plymleigh, was up against more than 200 dogs in the qualifiers but after making an impression on the judges, will go on to compete at the Petplan Junior Stakes final next year with owners Miss Balch and Mrs Bromell.
Petplan's event manager Jenny Parris said: 'We are thrilled with the success of the qualifiers in Bath. The event was excellent, well received by the general public and we managed to attract a strong group of competitors.'
