GRANITE Line Ltd, in association with Dartmoor Railway Supporters' Association, Dartmoor Railway CIC and British American Railway Services, have reached an agreement to operate trains from Okehampton until the end of September. A full timetable leaflet has been distributed to local supermarkets, service stations and accommodation providers. On the evening of Saturday, July 26, the group is running a special train between Meldon Viaduct and the boundary with Network Rail — a total ride of almost 30 miles. Travellers should arrive at Okehampton Station for 6pm for departure at 6.30pm to Meldon Viaduct, returning to Okehampton for a barbecue at 7pm. After the barbecue, the train will travel over the remainder of the Dartmoor railway line returning to Okehampton at around 9.15pm. Tickets for the ride, which can be bought on the evening, cost £15 to include the barbecue.
