GIDLEIGH Park has retained its two Michelin stars following the release of the Michelin Guide 2016.

Executive chef Michael Caines MBE was awarded two Michelin stars for the first time in 1999 and today’s announcement marks 18 continuous years for Gidleigh Park to hold the award.

Mr Caines said: ‘It’s with huge pride that we have retained our two stars here at Gidleigh Park for the eighteenth time. Consistency is always the hardest thing to achieve both in the kitchen as well as front of house, so to continue to deliver outstanding excellence over this long period is a real tribute to all the hardworking and loyal individuals who have been with us over these many years.

‘The Michelin Guide is arguably the most revered restaurant guide amongst chefs, restaurant critics and our guests, and I’d like to congratulate everyone here at Gidleigh Park.’

Jason Carruthers, CEO of Brownsword Hotels said: ‘Congratulations to Michael and his team for being awarded two Michelin stars again.

‘The team is one of the most talented and hardworking in any kitchen across the UK and this is very much deserved.’

News of the Michelin stars for Gidleigh Park is celebrated as its sister hotel, The Bath Priory, retains its Michelin star for the fourth year running, under executive head chef Sam Moody.
