A popular local point to point event is preparing to welcome people back to enjoy a day at the races after a two-year absence due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Lamerton Point to Point will be held at Kilworthy, Tavistock tomorrow (Sunday, March 20).
Kilworthy is on the A386 Tavistock to Okehampton road and the course will be clearly signposted.
An event spokesperson said: ‘It’s great to be back after an absence of two years. The course is in excellent condition and all looks set for some great fast racing on this well-respected course.
‘As in previous years with the spectators able to watch from beside the finishing post. There is likely to be a good entry with some high quality horses spread over the seven races.
‘With two maiden races, it is unlikely that there will be a need to split a race and the members race will start the day at 1pm.’
The car and lorry entrances are the same as in previous years and there will be access matting at all entrances and exits.
There will also be trade stands at the event, along with hot and cold refreshments and there is an excellent viewing platform giving panoramic views over the course, making this a great event for spectactors.
