THE popular monthly Halwill Market is due to take place at the parish hall at Halwill Junction this Saturday.

In July, thanks to the generosity of many local supporters, market organisers were able to donate £504 to Help for Heroes.

This month's market is due to be held between 10am and noon and the chosen charity will be The Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

A spokesperson for the market organisers said the trust was 'a very worthwhile cause'.

'Living just north of Dartmoor you never know when you may need them,' they said.

'We are expecting many of the usual tables selling local produce, meat products, and veg as well as craft goods including cards, jewellery, and wood turning and knitted items.

'There will be a bring and buy stall for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, so if you want to make a donation please get in touch.'

For 50p, visitors to the market can meet with friends, enjoy a cuppa with tea and biscuits and support a deserving local cause at the same time.
