ORGANISERS are gearing up for the sixth charity party and 'Cream Tea Run' motorbike ride in June, to raise money for Hospiscare and the National Association for Bikers with a Disability. For the sixth year running, the Okehampton Bikers and the SBRC Rally club will come together for a weekend of fun, live music, friendship and fundraising at Bracken Tor House, which has been kindly provided by John Elson and staff at Adventure Okehampton. The first night on Friday, June 6 will be a relaxing night of food and live music with performances from One Bloke One Mandolin, and Mariners Away. The fun continues the following day with the charity motorcycle ride, with bikers meeting at the Plymouth Inn at 11am. The route will take riders over some of the best roads in Devon, with several stops to enjoy the scenery. For a small donation, the ride is fully escorted by the Okehampton Bikers, and cars are welcome to follow along behind. That evening there will be a barbecue, bar and more live music from the Rock and Roll Outlaws. Revellers can enjoy a hearty English breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings to help recover from the fun. For more details, visit Rockhen's Coop in the Arcade and speak with Janice Elson, or call the shop on 01837 659249. All proceeds from the weekend will support the two charities.
