OKEHAMPTON’S Harvest Workers Co-op, a social enterprise and co-operative, is running a new programme of food and farming events in and around the town this spring.

The co-operative’s aim is to help the local community to engage in the social, environmental and health issues surrounding food and farming and continue to grow their impact and offering locally.

The team has arranged a free ‘Seed Day’ event, welcoming local people to drop in on Saturday, March 17 between 2pm and 5pm at the Ockment Centre.

Visitors will find a ‘seed swap or buy’, stalls and refreshments, an ‘introduction to seed saving’ demo, creative workshops for children, storytelling, seed-bomb making and much more.

In the evening, a food and film screening follows from 6pm.
