WARNING signs are to be erected close to the children's play area in Simmons Park after a report of adder bites to dogs.
Okehampton Town Council will be erecting signs near the entrances to Pratts Meadow warning walkers and dog owners that there are snakes in the area.
West Devon Borough Council's environmental health department received a report of two dog being bitten by adders recently.
Chairman of the town council's parks committee David Weekes said:?'We take our responsibilities very seriously and will be looking at putting up some signs to let people know there are snakes in the area.'
