THE three gardens in the hamlet of Cherubeer will be opening for The National Garden Scheme charity this month.

The gardens have many spring flowers and shrubs including a collection of more than 150 different forms of snowdrop, a national collection of hardy cyclamen and single and double forms of hellebore.

Galanthophile (a collector of snowdrops) Jo Hynes said: 'This is a very exciting time of year for gardeners when everything is coming back to life in the garden.

'There are many flowers to see and plenty to keep Galanthophiles interested.'

Entry costs £3.50 for the three gardens. There will be hot soup at lunchtime and home-made teas available. There will also be plants for sale, including named snowdrops and cyclamen.

The hamlet of Cherubeer is two miles east of Dolton village at the top of Aller Road. Anyone wishing to visit can take the Stafford Moor Fisheries turn off the Dolton Beacon to Winkleigh road or phone Jo and Tom Hynes on 01805 804265.

Visitors are asked to tele phone before setting off in case the gardens are under snow. The gardens will be open this Sunday and Sunday, February 7 from 1pm until 4 pm.
