AN Austin Windsor saloon from 1927 and a 1969 Jaguar E-type are among 50 vintage vehicles paying a visit to Okehampton Station on Sunday May 13.
Classic cars, buses and tractors, spanning 50 years of motoring history from the 1920s through to the 1970s, will be on show at the station between 10am and 4pm.
Other notable vehicles include a 1952 AEC Regent III double-decker London bus, a 1935 Morris 8 saloon and a 1966 Sunbeam Tiger JUL 390D, which is one of three surviving ex-Metropolitan Police pursuit cars formerly based at Hampton Police Station.
The Dartmoor Railway will also be running their 1960 vintage diesel-electric train to Meldon and Sampford Courtenay throughout the day. The full buffet will be available at the Bulleid buffet on platform 3 all day, and light refreshments will be available at the railway carriage buffet at Meldon Quarry station.
Admission to the vehicle display is free. Return train fares to Meldon or Sampford Courtenay cost £4.50 for adults, £3.50 for seniors, £2.50 for children and under 5s go free.
