TOMORROW (Friday) Noel Prior will perform at Calstock Arts so if you like beautifully intricate finger-picking guitar and soft vocal harmonies Noel is your man.

Using a blend of modern technology and more traditional acoustic instruments, Noel presents an enveloping soundscape of layered vocal harmonies and guitar.

He previously played in the Noel Prior Band but has recently returned to performing as a solo artist. He has a substantial back-catalogue of music. His set includes new compositions and acoustic reworkings of music that has inspired him. His own writing has moved on from his earlier youthful self-reflective compositions to a broader more mature consideration of the world around him. He said: ‘I’m a sucker for making things sound good for the audience! I think that’s one of the most important things in a live show.’

Using new technology has helped him achieve that aim and gives him the control he wants over how it sounds.

Following the release of his first album in 2004, (the acclaimed Outside In), he went on to play support act to people such as Paolo Nutini, Newton Faulkner and the John Butler Trio. Several more albums have followed.
