THERE were ghoulish goings-on at the Museum of Dartmoor Life last Friday with a spooky 'Night at the Museum'.
A group of girl guides from Tavistock slept overnight in the museum, listening to spooky stories from storyteller Steve Manning.
Museum curator Maurie Webber said: 'It seems they all slept well, in spite of some of really spooky spine tingling stories told to them by Steve Manning!
'Earlier in the evening a number of children and grown-ups from Okehampton and the guides did a Letterbox Trail around the museum.
'All the lights in the museum were switched off; the only light was the torches those taking part carried. It was very atmospheric.
'There was also an opportunity for the children to make their own letter box stamp and the guides started an Okehampton Times archive for the museum.'
The Museum of Dartmoor Life celebrates its 30th year this July, and has an emphasis on the social history of Dartmoor and Okehampton, from pre-history to the present day.
