THE Okehampton Sports Hub project and pavilion will be the main topic of discussion at the OCRA annual meeting next week.

The meeting will provide an update on the hub project, in particular the future progress on the building of the sport pavilion next to Okehampton College's all-weather pitches.

OCRA chairman David Carter said: 'I see the hub project as a great opportunity for OCRA to work with local clubs, charities, agencies, councils and educational bodies to deliver an exciting project to provide high quality recreational facilities for Okehampton and surrounding villages to use.'

The pavilion will provide changing rooms, toilets, social facilities, comfortable viewing areas, an office and delivery space for community services as well as the ability to host a diverse range of sporting and recreational events.

OCRA provides a diverse range of high quality recreational activities and facilities for people in Okehampton and the surrounding villages and schools.

In 2010 more than 2,500 local people benefited directly from the delivery of activities and events.

Through OCRA's work with local schools and its support of local clubs and development of facilities it has had an impact on hundreds more.

To learn more about OCRA, come along to the meeting at Okehampton Conservative Club on Thursday November 10 starting at 7.30pm.
