STUDENTS were able to have a taster of university life last week when they spent the day at Plymouth University.
Thirty-five students from Okehampton College attended as part of the Aimhigher Peninsula Programme, which organises events for year 9 and 10 students.
The programme aims to raise their awareness of the opportunities offered by further education.
The taster day allowed students to experience the university first hand, gaining a feel for all aspects of higher education life.
Johanne Searle, a teacher from Okehampton College who attended the event, said she thought the day had been 'very helpful'.
She said: 'It gave the pupils a very authentic and interactive experience of university. The group was guided by students currently studying at Plymouth, so the pupils could ask questions and receive genuine answers from a student perspective.'
