STUDENTS at Okehampton College enjoyed running a popular business during their lunch hour, when they sold small beanie sacks used to perform tricks.

The Mycatchi's, named by the students, meaning, 'my catch', are made of material filled with bean bags. They are used to improve throwing, catching and balancing skills.

The students made the sacks themselves using sewing machines in the textiles room of the technology department.

Tutor groups are offered the opportunity to start their own enterprise and are given £20 to set up their proposed plan.

The tutor group used £10 of their funds to buy the materials needed to make the sacks, which cost 20p each.

So far they have made a £4 profit and are continuing to sell their product to staff and students.

As well as running a stall at lunchtimes, they also had a stand at the May Fair earlier this month.

The money raised from selling the bags is being put towards a tutor group trip at the end of the summer term.
