THE Okehampton Community Archive will be opening its own dedicated centre this Saturday, April 23.
The centre will be situated opposite the Old Mill on Mill Road. Members have been busily renovating the building over the last few weeks in readiness for the open day.
Archive materials donated by the residents of Okehampton will be housed in the centre, as part of the 'Living History of the Town.' Those willing to research or view the archive will also be welcome to drop in.
Members are currently compiling photographs, film, video and voice recordings, personal memories and experiences from the townsfolk.
If you have any photographs or memorabilia relating to the past 110 years of Okehampton's history, feel free to bring them along and show them to the centre's members.
The opening takes place between 10.30am and 1pm. There will be photographs on display, and videos of past carnivals will be playing as well as refreshments.
