NORTH Tawton will celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics in style with ten days of sporting and cultural events for all ages.

Events kick off on Friday June 1 at North Tawton Primary School with a day of celebrations.

Cultural events include a history exhibition, film shows, street theatre and musical concerts. Sporting events include lawn bowls, skills sessions and tournaments for rugby, football and judo.

Community Spaces, which gave a grant of £100,000 for new play equipment in the town's memorial park, is supporting the many activities planned for the park on Monday June 4.

Many of North Tawton's community organisations, including the school, WI, churches, Scout and Guide groups and the Actors of North Tawton drama group are getting involved, and local businesses have sponsored events to ensure ten days of top quality activities.
