I WOULD like to express my sincere thanks to the people of Bere Alston, Tavistock and surrounding villages plus local businesses in Tavistock for supporting my grandson Tyler, age nine, in his recent epic marathon cycle ride from Plymouth Hoe to Tavistock, a journey of just over 31 miles.

It was a tough ride, he fell off twice, yet undeterred he was soon back on his bike.

The support for Tyler has been tremendous not only locally yet nationally and internationally as well. Because of this Tyler has raised £2,762.33 for his chosen charities Bloodwise (formally Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research) and Tavistock Meadows Makeover.

Thank you also goes to those loyal supporters, who stayed on at the meadows for a belated arrival to give a terrific welcome over the finish line. Like myself, his mum and dad are truly grateful. A little boy’s dream came true. Thank you everyone and thank you Tyler.
