Oke Argyle U14s 5
Crediton Youth U14s 1
CREDITON capitalised on some hesitancy in the Okehampton defence to take the lead in the fifth minute.
Argyle struggled to get any sort of grip on the game although half chances did come to Josh and Ben Barkwill but none were taken. Three changes midway through the half galvanised Argyle as they started to take a strangle hold on the game — although they still went into the break 1-0 down.
Within five minutes of the restart Okehampton had the lead. Firstly some fine pressure from Jamie and Josh forced an error in the defence before Josh fired past the keeper. This was followed by fine play from Tallan down the left flank moments later as he picked out Foggy at the far post to head it in.
Okehampton then dominated the game as their confidence grew, popping the ball around at will and it was no surprise when they went further ahead again through Josh. Jamie had a fine game and was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet as Sparky inadvertently blocked his goalbound effort but who showed great presence of mind to poke the ball home.
Another fine cross from Josh picked out Sparky who glanced his header into the corner.
Okehampton should take great confidence from their fine second half display into the last few games of the season.
