IT is September 1963 and the lovely Dartmoor town of Chagford is reeling following the dastardly murder of Bill Freckler . . .
Residents and visitors have the chance this Saturday to become super sleuths and try to solve this grisly mystery!
People are invited to dress up in costumes from 1963, team up with others if they wish and explore Chagford to find suspects and clues that will lead them to unmask the killer.
The event, on Saturday September 5, begins with a briefing at 2.30pm from 'Inspector Cradduck' at the 'Incident Room' (Chagford Jubilee Hall) and ends with the disclosure of the murderer at supper, followed by 1963-style entertainment.
Tickets are available from Fowlers in Chagford — adults: £12, children (under 16) £5, family (2 adults and 2 children) £30.
Each ticket includes afternoon tea, supper and entertainment. Teams will require a murder information pack available on the day for £5.
Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed sleuth and the most successful detective team.
There will be a licensed bar and a raffle.
'Murder in Chagford' (or 'Does What It Says On The Teign') is a joint venture between Chagford Swimming Pool and Chagford Pantomime. All profits will go to Chagford Swimming Pool.
All visitors to the event are asked to park at Chagford Primary School.
