A LIVE and Acoustic event is being held in Okehampton to showcase talent in the area and raise money for charities.

The Moor Live and Acoustic event, which it is hoped will widen the choice of live music in the Okehampton area, will be performed using acoustic guitars, bass and percussion, using a full sound system to reach a larger audience with music to appeal to all ages.

Money raised from the event will go towards Devon Aid Korogwe (DAK) and Okehampton Youth Chorus.

Headlining will be Cole Stacey, who has performed at Chagstock, Doddstock and Sidmouth Music festivals.

Other performers will be Offshore Drift, Moorreason, Jeffi Clarke and Robert Edis, Pete Winwood, The Sidewalk Anthem and Josie Lloyd.

Moor Live and Acoustic organiser, Kerry Brux said: 'The night will appeal to a full spectrum of people who want to hear talented local musicians.

'Unlike an open mike night, we have invited the performers based on their established talent.

'Future nights are in the planning stage and we have already spoken to local rock performers, Kitty and the Lost Boys, who would perform an unplugged set.'

There will also be a competition to win a free ticket to the event. Readers can enter by answering the following question: Cole Stacey appeared at Chagstock and Doddstock — from where does the 'stock' tag originate?
