WREN Music did their bit to represent the arts in Okehampton, when they performed at the recent Exeter Respect Festival.
A number of Wren groups performed on the community stage at the festival. Their youngest group of singers, Singing Roots, aged from 8 to 18, sang a selection of songs under the leadership of Sarah Owen, including one they had written themselves.
Roots A Capella, another of Wren's youth singing groups, also performed and the instrumental orchestra, Rough Music, played the stage in front of a packed marquee.
Exeter Respect is the city's annual celebration of diversity, using the performing and creative arts to engage the wider community in saying no to all forms of prejudice.
Throughout the day workshops were run for festival goers to try out instruments and singing workshops gave everyone the chance to raise their voices in harmony.
