Crediton thirds 6
North Tawton 26
NORTH Tawton run of four away fixtures on the trot ended with only 14 players, going to Crediton in a local derby game for the Clive White Cup.
With lack of front row players James Henshaw and Steve King stepped up to their unfamiliar positions to complete a full scrum. However they were unlucky to be penalised in the scrum several times. Crediton capitalised to put pressure on North Tawton with an early three points. Cameron Rickerby made the first try before half time then Jo Madden had to leave the field with injury.
The second half North Tawton were reduced to 13 players and Crediton 14 players. Jack Phare started to marshal his forward's resulting with a great side step from Steve King to make his try.
After a period of old fashion mauling which slowed the game down Tom Davis bulldozed his way through to complete his try. The final try came from William Lethbridge.
The fixture with Crediton is over four games this season and the winners of each game will hold the cup until they meet again. Now it finally sits in Taw Meadows clubhouse after a long period in Crediton's trophy cabinet.
