ZYG Gregorek, the owner of Anglers' Paradise in Halwill, enjoyed success with the rod while visiting Indian Ocean.
Fishing off the Adaman Islands where seas were really rough he was caught in the tail end of the hurricane which devastated the Philippines and his boat nearly went under.
However this did not stop him catching more than 21 different species of fish in five days, but not Dogtooth,
He said: 'We couldn't go to the right spots, it was too rough. However, on the fifth day I decided to pack it in as we weren't getting anywhere, so we were on our way back to the harbour when I caught a couple of small bonito and a small Dogtooth.
'The moral of the story is never give up or as my wife says, there's no fool, like an old fool!'
