Devon C Chagford v Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough THIS was an important game for both clubs as third from bottom Chagford entertained next to bottom Plymouth Civil Service.     Batting first Chagford were soon in trouble losing Divan Marais in the third over and Craig Penberthy in the fourth to leave Chagford at six runs for two wickets. The opening attack for Plymouth Civil Service /Roborough continued to pose problems for Chagford with sustained and accurate quick bowling from James Sharpe and Matt Trevarrow making runs difficult for Paul Penberthy and Charles Fitzroy.   However, slowly they were able to advance the score to 75 before Paul Penberthy departed for for a hard fought 26 and Fitzroy was run out for 33 with the score at  116.   Jon Wright made a quick fire 36, but  as too often this season the Chagford middle order and tail all fell quickly with only veteran Dave Penberthy (13) and the ever reliable Steve Sizmur 12 not out making double figures. Nathan Bulley 3-15 and Chris Sanders 3-41 took the wickets but it was the impressive opening attack of Sharpe 1-28 and Trevarrow 1- 17 that earned the plaudits. The visitors' reply was equally bad with Andy Hawker being brilliantly caught in the slips by Chagford skipper Lammonby first ball off Fitzroy and Rob Gaylard being dismissed by Sizmur to leave them 0-2. Wickets began to fall at regular intervals with double figure scores by Ben Wilkinson16, Chris Sanders 23, Dan Winser 16 and Nick Read 23 as the visitors tumbled to 117 to give Chagford victory by 48 runs.
