OKEHAMPTON Community Recreation Association, in conjunction with the North Tamar Fencing Club, held its annual fencing competition last week at Parklands Leisure Centre.

'We had a good turn out with three competitors in Under 10s, five U13s and five over 13s. The standard was very high and every one did very well but there could only be one winner from each category,' said head coach Phil Westley. 

RESULTS: Over 13s — 1, Jade Gifford, 2, Nokomis Ramos-Gonzalez, 3, Mia Doherty, Edward Curtis and Sam Doherty. U13s 1, Josiah Fitton, 2, Bob Alden, 3 = Jack Reddicliffe and Kiah Allen, and Katherine Curtis. U10s: 1, Cochise Ramos-Gonzalez, 2, James McGlynn, 3, Charlie Thompson.

'A good time was had by all and everyone went home tired, but happy,' said Sue Doidge from OCRA who presented the medals and trophies.

'A big thank you to Phil and his family for organising such a fantastic event.'
