OKEHAMPTON Veterans were again grateful for the use of the 3G pitch at Ashbury as it allowed their home match against St Martin’s to be played on a stormy Sunday.

Playing with the strong wind in the first half they raced into a two-goal lead with Steve Madge getting both. St Martin’s then came back into the game and both sides had chances before Steve Madge completed his hat-trick.

However, the visitors pulled one back just before half time to make it 3-1.

The second half was more even as St Martin’s benefited from the conditions but some resolute defending kept them at bay and they did get their second to keep in touch but Argyle scored their fourth when Rob Holland swept the ball past the visiting keeper.
