Okehampton ladies seconds 7
Dart ladies thirds 0
THIS was a superb start to the new year for Okehampton ladies seconds.
The match started slowly with Okehampton struggling to make an impression. However, a quickly taken penalty corner found Rochelle Hillier, who passed to Winnie Rademaker, whose reverse stick pass found Viv Weatherington in front of the goal to neatly put the ball away. This high standard of teamwork from the Oke ladies continued for the remainder of the match as did the goals, which came thick and fast.
It was Oke's Molly Petherbridge, working hard all over the pitch, who scored a superb second goal after a deflection from the goal keeper.
After a spell of injury at the end of the first half, the second half started with even more enthusiasm to take ownership of this match. Midfielders Eisla Gibb and Lotte Rademaker for the home side applied more pressure to the Dart side - supplying the passes into the Dart D to create more goals for Okehampton.
Defensively, Nicola Stoneman, Sandy Douglas and Leslie Bingham were untried during this match for Oke, closing down all opportunities for Dart quickly and organised impeccably by Jennie Humphry in goal.
Player of the match award went to Molly Petherbridge for her outstanding performance and team spirit.
