THE annual captains’ charity day at Tavistock Golf Club has been well supported again this year.

This is the big fund raising event for the Captains chosen charities which this year are Devon Air Ambulance Trust and The Children Happy Hospital Fund at Derriford Hospital.

66 pairs took part in this year’s 4BBB. The weather was kind, the course was in excellent condition and the scoring was very tight with the top six men’s pairings scoring 45 pts.

After count backs, the winning pair were Paul Crump and Nick Turner. The top mixed team Mike and Tracey Sutcliffe also scored 45 pts and Belinda McSherry and Bev Ruth won the ladies top prize with 44 pts.

A delighted captain Nigel Doidge told members that over £4,000 had been raised at the end of the day to add to the money already raised throughout the year.
