OKEHAMPTON Golf Club’s captain Evan Rees took to the fairways at 4.50am in what was the start of a golfing marathon.

‘Evan’s Episode’ saw him complete 17 rounds of foursomes golf in one day, the last round being completed at 9.10pm.

This 17th final round brought in the best score of the day, a three under par gross score garnering 45 points, partnered by Steve Peake.

This gruelling, but fun ‘Episode’, was 12 months in the planning by Evan, so he was determined to continue playing throughout the day despite the unfavourable weather!

Evan’s aim was to fund a new clubhouse roof, and thanks to the generosity of members and guests he achieved this by raising £2,700.
