ON Saturday at Okehampton Golf Club an individual medal competition was held.

Division one was closely contested with the top four players all attaining net 63, after countback first place was awarded to Evan Rees; in second was Kevin Perryman, third place went to Lewis Parry. Division two was won by Paul Rogers with net 64 on the back nine from in second Colin Cornwall also with a net 64. Colin Beardwell took third place with net 66.

The winner of division three was Richard Heslop with an amazing gross 83 net 56. Andrew Rogers was second with net 60 and in third was Jay Carroll with net 62.

On Sunday, in superb conditions, a four ball better ball team mixed open represented by 18 different clubs was held. The overall winners were Mr and Mrs P Clark and Mr and Mrs A Seager from Honiton with 71 points. Second overall were Mr and Mrs P Robinson and Mr and Mrs P Wadlington from Enmore Park with 70pts.

Best home team was won by Mr and Mrs N Atkinson and Mr and Mrs D Stanbury with 70pts. Best visitor prize went to Mr and Mrs A Gray and Mr and Mrs G Robinson from Magnolia Park with 67pts.

On Wednesday the ladies’ section entered an Individual Stableford for the President’s Salver. The winner of the silver division was Sue Stanbury with 33pts; second, Abby Turner with 32pts and third with 29 points was Lin Atkinson.

The bronze division and the Salver were won by Sue Williams with 38pts. In second place was Maggie Caws with 36 points from, in third Francis Harbron.
