OKEHAMPTON Golf Club held its Ladies’ Spring Open last week, the format being a three ball Delaney Texas Scramble. This always proves to be a popular event demonstrated by the large field of entries.

The overall winners with 58 points were Mary Keir, Marcia Jones and Marcia Collett (Okehampton) followed into second place by Vida Appleton, Wendy Collins and Irene Bessell (Oke/Bowood/Launceston) with 61pts. Best visitor prize went to Sue Gannon, Lyn Beevers and Shirley Mason (Exeter Golf and Country Club) with 62.6pts and the second visitor prize was taken by Kathy Sheills, Lesley Moore and Carol Lewis (Farringdon/Isle of Wedmore) achieving 63.2 pts.

The category best combination was won by Penny Deakin, Lynn Hazelton and Judith Ezzard (Okehampton/Crediton) with 63.6pts.
