ON Saturday a large field entered a four ball better ball competition at Okehampton Golf Club for the Charles Pedrick Shield.
The winners of division one and the shield were Ian Moore and Alan Searle with 46 points. James Stacey and Simon James were second with 44pts and Steve Rice and Chris Pike were third with 43pts.
Colin Cornwall and Keith Lee were the winners of division two with 46pts; Barry Ratcliffe and Allen Deakin took second place with 45pts and Josh Stacey and Andrew Sinclair were third after countback with 44pts.
The ladies’ section played the Express and Echo foursomes qualifier and the winners with 33 points were Sue Stanbury and Marcia Collett; second place went to Cherry James and Penny Deakin with 32pts and in third were Francis Harbron and Elaine Marwood with 29pts. The top scorers now go on to play in the regional finals at Torquay later in the year.
The Senior’s most recent competition was a three ball, one to count medal with one player from each of the lower, middle and higher handicap groups. Adrian Tilley, Nick Waldron and Courtney Heard were the winners with a splendid nett 56, followed by Rod Milsom-Smith, Steve Raine and Allen Deakin on nett 58.
